چکیده

Epoxy has been widely used as a coating material to protect the steel reinforcement in concrete structures, because of its outstanding processability, excellent chemical resistance, good electrical insulating properties, and strong adhesion/affinity. The major disadvantage raised from exothermic curing reaction highly crosslinked epoxy matrix is brittleness microcracks that change performances. barrier performance coatings can be enhanced by incorporation inorganic filler particles at nanometer scale which dispersed within resin form an nanocomposite. parametric addition eggshell ash nanoparticles (ESAnp) palm kernel shell nanoparticle (PKSAnp) for mild was studied. Thermal decomposition observed terms global mass loss using TGA Q50 thermogravimetric analyzer. Improvement 78.05% 82.56% thermal properties were obtained epoxy-4wt%ESAnp epoxy-5wt%PKSAnp 1000°C. This work showed have best applications.

Characterisation of Pulverised Palm Kernel Shell for Sustainable Waste Diversification

The paper presents a report on the physico-thermal properties and elemental composition of pulverized palm kernel shell to enhance its use in engineering applications. Clean palm kernel shell were dried, milled and screened to obtain particles 0.23 mm mean diameter. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the physical and thermal properties of the pulverized palm kernel shell and its differentia...

Enhancement of Adhesion Properties, Corrosion Resistance and Cathodic Disbonding of Mild Steel-Epoxy Coating Systems By Vanadium Conversion Coating

In this study, vanadium conversion coating(VCC) was deposited on the surface of soft-cast steel (St-37).  A thermoset coating was enforced on the VCC and blank substrates. The surface was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), elemental mapping of energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The adhesion strength...

The Dynamic and Vibration Response of Composite Cylindrical Shell Under Thermal Shock and Mild Heat Field

In this article, the vibration and dynamic response of an orthotropic composite cylindrical shell under thermal shock loading and thermal field have been investigated. The problem is that the shell is initially located at a first temperature, and some tension caused by a mild heat field is created, then the surface temperature of the cylinder suddenly increases. The partial derivative equations...

Core-shell nanoparticle arrays double the strength of steel

Manipulating structure, defects and composition of a material at the atomic scale for enhancing its physical or mechanical properties is referred to as nanostructuring. Here, by combining advanced microscopy techniques, we unveil how formation of highly regular nano-arrays of nanoparticles doubles the strength of an Fe-based alloy, doped with Ti, Mo, and V, from 500 MPa to 1 GPa, upon prolonged...
